Hello, beautiful people there! If you don’t know, One of the things New Orleans is known for is their amazingggg food! I mean everything that we ate there was fantastic, even the corner store chicken and Cajun Seafood restaurant was amazing! Some things were different because it’s something I am not used to but overall, everything was well seasoned and delicious.
New Orleans is known for their Beignets and they were delicious too! You can tell it’s a popular thing because of all the Beignet places are always packed!! We went to different restaurants each day so here are some of the places, what we had and would I recommend it! We also ate at Dante’s Kitchen which was an A+ in my book!
Cafe Beignet was fantastic! This place is located on Bourbon Street but it is in a cut like area but you will see the gates so you can’t miss it!
The hubster and I had the combo platter which included fried shrimp, fried okra, fish, and fries! Good Glory is was delish!!
For our desert, we had Pecan Waffles and boy howdy was it good! This was our first time having nuts inside of our waffle and it was too good! 😀
My family pretty had the same thing but my sister got the crawfish omelet. She didn’t rave much about it but it was good overall. I mean she ate it lol!
Here, we ate lunch at Commander’s Palace. If you don’t know, Commander’s Palace is the oldest restaurant in the US so you know it’s a big deal! I got the BBQ platter thing I can’t remember the exact name but it was good! It comes with white beans, but I asked for no beans. They also have $.25 Martinis during lunch! And yes they are good and STRONG! You’re only allowed to get 3 but trust me, that is all you will need LOL!!
The hubster got a fish dish which was delicious by the way!!
My sister got the steak dish and she said it was very good!
This was our to go box LOL! They made it into a turkey! How cool is that?!
For desert, they had this type of bread pudding and oh my gosh it was too good! It contains whiskey in it but you can barely taste it!
The strawberry shortcake my niece got was amazing!!
Here is the place! Make sure to check it out!!! 😀
Our last day, we got to eat at Restaurant August for lunch. They have a 3-course meal for $20.15 on Fridays from 11am-2pm so you can’t go wrong with that! This was a starter sampler for us and no it is not an egg! It’s like a garlic type mousse with crumbs in it! It was absolutely tasty!!
For my appetizer, I got the crawfish something I forgot! When I saw this, I was like so where’s the rest of it LOL!
But it comes with this kind of soup! This was a great appetizer and it actually tasted like gumbo!
The hubster got the sheepshead fish!! He said that it was delicious!
I got the Guinea Hen entree and it was really good! Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of the dumplings but the meat and soup were an A+.
My niece got some chicken tenders and oh my gosh they were the best tasting chicken tenders I have ever had! I kid you not! It was breaded and seasoned to the max!! This is something I highly recommend you all trying!! 😀
This is the roast white chocolate dessert and oh my gosh THIS WAS SENT FROM THE HEAVENS!
For real, I have never had anything like this and I’m so glad I chose this! It’s some type of coconut flavored ice cream, I want to say toffee ice cream, crushed graham crackers or something of that nature and strawberries. You will not be disappointed!
Now this place had to have been all of our favorite spot! My little sister found it on yelp and the way the ratings were raving about this place, I can see why because it is amazing! You can get a bag of crawfish, crab legs, shrimp, Chinese food, anything you need here for a VERY low place. We even stopped there again on our way home LOL!
They have multiple locations but we went to one on North Claiborne Avenue. So if you don’t want to spend too much on seafood in the tourist area, take the bus or you could walk to Cajun Seafood and get food that’s worth your money!!
