Hello, there beautiful people out there! One thing we have to understand is things aren’t always going to go our way when we want it to. But you have to stay positive. You may be going through a financial situation, or you may be going through a breakup or divorce. Whatever you are going through, I’m sure it caught you by surprise, and you weren’t expecting it, but it wasn’t a surprise to God.
The thing I am learning about the big man above is he knows our beginning to our end. Nothing is a surprise to him as it pertains to our life journey. He knows it is not my time to have another child; he knows it is not my time to do this or have that. But in due time (aka his time) I will have everything he has for me and promised me. I want to share three ways to stay encouraged and positive when things aren’t going your way.
#1 Pray. Prayer is your plug to the big man above. He sees and hears our cries and worries, but if you aren’t communicating directly with him, nothing is going to change about your situation. I remember when I was weary or in one of my moods, I would call my friends or whoever was close and share my problems with them. I learned from that either they were happy I was going through something, shared with other people, or they really couldn’t help me because they weren’t or hadn’t experienced anything like it. It was a major disappointment and nothing changed.
But when I got on my knees and cast my cares to the Lord, I felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders and things started to change for the better. From that, I share everything and cry out to the Lord because I know he is always listening, he knows what I need before I even ask for it (Matthew 6:8) and prayer changes everything! So whatever you are going through, get on your knees and cry out to him. He sees what you are going through, but he is waiting for you to cast your cares and to make your request known. Remember, you HAVE not because you ASK not!
#2 Trust. Trust that whatever you are going through is needed to get you where God is trying to take you. Yes it is hard but remember what comes easy doesn’t last and what you had to go through to get what you deserve last forever. When you pray about something, whether it is to receive a new house or new man or whatever it is, you are going to get tested because the devil knows what you desire and he is going to do anything in his power to make sure you don’t get it or you lose it.
But do you trust God enough to know that every setback is a set up for a major comeback? That is why you have to trust God’s plan for your life whether you are going through hardships or you just don’t understand what is going on and why you are going through it. It is for a reason and only he knows that reason. He said to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean NOT on your OWN understanding (Proverbs 3:5). We may not understand it but trust me it is for a reason. He knows what he is doing so trust him.
#3 Believe. Believe that whatever you are going through you are going to get through it! There is nothing worse than thinking you are going to be stuck in a situation forever. The only reason you are stuck is that you choose to be stuck. You got to change your mindset and believe in the best for your life. Life and death are in the power of our tongue, and sometimes we speak what is on our minds and it comes to pass.
Be careful not to speak defeat or give too much life to your negative situation or else nothing is going to change. First, you need to change your mindset by speaking positivity to your situation. Tell yourself you are not going to stay down for long, I am not going to allow this to keep me here, I am going to be successful, I am going to be great, I am going to write this book. Once you start speaking positively to your negative situation, things will start to change for the better.
I wanted to share this with you all because encouraging others keep me encourage. I am learning to practice what I preach because I can’t help others when I am not doing the same. To be honest, things aren’t going my way as we speak. I want to travel to more new places but those things have been put on hold. I am in the process of working hard taking on my Blog full time and be more consistent on YouTube to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. And I have been working on some things that I am uber nervous but super excited about!
We prayed three years ago we would move in 2016 and be in our new home, but we haven’t found anything and we’re not 100% ready to leave until we find what is for us. We wanted to have baby #2 this year, but we want to move first. Plus, I have been stressed and a little depressed lately. Like I have my own set of things going on in my life.
But one thing I have to promise myself is I will not be moved by what I can’t control and trust and believe God is in control. Maybe it is not my time to have the things I desire; maybe I will have to wait until next year to travel to new places. But one thing I am certain of is God is in control. He knew this was going to happen and he is going to get me through all of this.
I got to keep the faith and trust him because he will see me through all of this. So as much as I am keeping myself encouraged while things aren’t going my way, I pray these things will keep you encouraged as well. It will get better and our desires will come to pass, but his timing is perfect and we will be thankful he didn’t give us those things on our on time because we wouldn’t know how to handle it or would take it for granted. So remember, pray, trust and believe and things will happen your way when it is SUPPOSED to happen. 🙂
