This post is in partnership with Theraflu. All opinions are my own!
Winter has arrived and besides the holidays, this season is one of my least favorites! I don’t like it when the temperatures drop, and of course, it’s also cold and flu season. As a busy Mom Boss of two, I am always on the go! With this, it is hard for me to slow down and take a moment to relax because I try to get so much done in 24 hours. Sometimes, I don’t realize that I need to take a moment for myself until I start to feel run down and immediately catch a cold soon after. Yes you guys, I catch a cold that quickly! It’s like clockwork and it has always been that way. I’ve mentioned before that sudden weather changes are a big reason why I come down with a cold. Now that we reside in a hot climate, the winter weather can go from 95 degrees to 60 degrees in a few days. And when that happens, I usually start to get sick.
I want to share a few wellness tips that help me get through the season feel better in hopes that it will do so for you too! Whenever I am starting to feel under the weather, I always use Theraflu Hot Liquids to fight my cold and flu symptoms. My mom is a nurse and she first introduced me to Theraflu when I went off to college. It was always her go-to medication whenever she was sick, so she made sure that I had plenty on hand for those sick days away from home. From that, it has always been my go-to, and still is a staple in my household to this day!
I love Theraflu Hot Liquids for many reasons, but I’ll share two for now! For one, I love the hot, soothing taste whenever I take sips of it. I love how I immediately feel warm and it relaxes me. Also, it works rapidly to fight off my cold and flu symptoms. I always notice a difference when I #PowerDown with Theraflu. Theraflu has Multi-Symptom Severe Cold packets to help fight those symptoms throughout the day as well as Nighttime packets, which I absolutely love. There are times when my cold symptoms worsen in the evening when the temperature drops. A packet of the Nighttime Severe Cold & Cough at night helps to soothe me before bed and get a good night’s sleep while fighting my symptoms. My husband rarely gets sick throughout the year EXCEPT during the winter season. When he does start to feel sick or needs relief from those symptoms, he uses Theraflu Hot Liquids as well!
Now on to the tips! 3 tips that will help you get through the winter season are:
Drink tons of water and get plenty of rest! We should be doing this all year round but during the cold and flu season, it is very important to do so and increase your intake. As a mom, it’s hard to get enough sleep as is especially if you have a little one. If you can, try to sneak in a moment for yourself – a nap when baby naps, or maybe have your spouse or loved one take the kids out of the house while you catch up on some needed rest. That will make a difference in your mood and will help your body to rest, rejuvenate, and get back to its normal self.
Wash your hands often, sanitize, and disinfect your surroundings! With all of the germs and bacteria that come about during this season, we need to make sure that we are doing our part to keep ourselves and our surroundings clean and disinfected as much as possible. We don’t want our lack of hygienic care to be the cause of us getting sick. For myself, I love using anti-bacterial soap and keeping hand sanitizer in my purse, diaper bag as well as around our home. I also keep disinfecting wipes and sprays around to make sure that I am cleaning areas that we touch or come in contact with. When you’re a parent, this should be done often but when the winter season comes about, it should get done as often as possible!
Take care of yourself! I’m always on the go and it’s hard to slow down sometimes. I’ll get a little sniffle or a minor cough and brush it off as if it is nothing, but my body eventually tells me otherwise. Now, when I start to feel cold symptoms, I immediately tackle it by taking my Theraflu Hot Liquids. Whenever I do this, I start to feel a lot better! The good thing about the Theraflu Hot Liquids is that it is super easy to make! All you have to do when you’re sick is mix ONE packet with an 8oz of HOT water in a cup and once it’s comfortable for you to drink, sip!
I hope that these tips are insightful and beneficial for you throughout the winter season! We can’t control the seasons, but we can do our part to make sure that we take care of our well-being, incorporate healthy habits and take time out of our busy day to power down and keep those cold and flu symptoms to a minimum. If you do start to feel those symptoms coming about, make sure to fight back with Theraflu Hot Liquids!
